About the Virtual Lab

    About the Virtual Lab:

Under the management of Dr. David Hall, Montgomery College's CyberWATCH Director, Montgomery College built and maintains a state-of-the-art remote IT security lab to be used by all members of the CyberWATCH consortium. With the high cost associated with state-of-the-art equipment, the lab will keep consortium member institutions from having to invest in their own labs and educational equipment. The lab will be virtual, which will give students at other institutions the opportunity to practice and study IT security techniques by accessing the lab remotely. The lab will accommodate 12 remote students simultaneously. Initially, the lab will have equipment to teach router, switch, and firewall security as well as workstation and server security courses.

The lab is currently most useful for the following CyberWATCH courses:

    -Hardening the Infrastructure
    -Network Defense and Countermeasures
-(Cisco Academy) Managing Network Security 1
-(Cisco Academy) Managing Network Security 2
